2022 Movement Fellowship

The Maintainers Movement Fellowship is a year-long fellowship to advance the movement for maintenance thinking and action. The fellowship brings together a group of individuals whose maintenance, repair, and care work has substantial connections to the environment. During the fellowship, fellows learn from and with their peers; communicate complex ideas in accessible ways for a broad audience, and advance the Maintainers’ vision for a more caring and well-maintained world.

Through The Maintainers Movement Fellowship program, The Maintainers aim to support work that advances equitable maintenance and repair policies; enable meaningful experiences for collaborative knowledge production; and develop a clear set of action priorities that will be published broadly and inform the future work of The Maintainers.

Projects

Embodying Degrowth

The culminating project for the Maintainers Movement Fellowship investigates practices related to degrowth, maintenance, and sustainability. Through interviews with practitioners, activists, and experts, Embodying Degrowth looks at the extraordinary everyday work required to develop ecologically and civilizationally sustainable alternatives to an unsustainable global system.
